In future experiences notice the constant streams of liking, disliking or bland neutrality and realize them. What makes you angry or frustrated? What is makes you happy? And what in life is simply neutral – meaning you could care less either way? The object to gaining more wisdom and control of your emotions is to treat all feelings equal (the good and bad and the neutral) Make space and become aware of all feelings and the feelings of others and find sensitivity instead of reacting blindly. I.E. when you hate someone or something it is not the person you hate but the feelings of hatred inside your mind. Your projected hate, love, envy, pride, etc. projects outward. It affects the way you project yourself to the world and you can form control patterns that are not positive. Always focus on the experience itself not the object or person that gives rise to the experience. Be careful not to live your life in terms of feelings that you think somehow are invested in objects or people rather than yourself – your mind. When you feel strong emotions you should switch to from focusing on the external object that seems to cause the trouble and turns toward what you are feeling in your own body and mind.
